WebbHmmm it's definitely a preference thing but you could try realistic lighting overhaul or even just relighting skyrim by itself. There is also that new mod Luminosity. All three of these mods are closer to vanilla darkness. I would personally go relighting skyrim and use an enb to adjust the darkness.
